Turning Inside Out
Queen of Peace Primary School came to us with an unusual problem - too much space! There were large circulation areas within the school that were not fully utilised.
Our solution was to re-purpose internal spaces to create new outdoor learning environments.
By peeling back the walls, removing the ceilings and allowing natural daylight and ventilation to penetrate the spaces we created sheltered outdoor project spaces. These were fitted out with wet and dirty benches, planters boxes and external grade finishes.
The spaces now connect directly to the internal learning spaces and provide the school with purpose built outdoor learning spaces at each year level. A great solution that ensures that all spaces are learning spaces.
Why not turn inside out?
